We collaborated with Maricela, one of our incredibly talented artisan partners in Oaxaca, Mexico, on this fair trade weaving. The design was inspired by one of Maricela's traditional designs.
The 100% wool has been dyed using natural plants and minerals, then woven on a traditional foot loom in the Oaxaca Valley in Mexico. From dying the wool, to preparing the materials for the loom and then weaving, this piece takes around 5 days to complete.
This handcrafted textile has been finished with a heavy cotton backing, to create a 'forever' cushion.
This long cushion measures approximately 120 x 40cm, a perfect size for King or Queen beds, a sofa, bench or a window seat.
• measuring approx. 120 x 40cm/ 47 x 16in
• back of cushion features heavy ecru cotton
• fits two 65 x 40cm inserts (not included - I use and recommend Ikea's Fjådrar cushion pad)
• envelope closure with woolen ties
• dry clean only
